WE SPEAK FOR THOSE WHO
CANNOT SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ

The Malaikah Foundation uplifts and empowers the angels of the world—individuals with disabilities, orphans, and those in need—while providing volunteers with a transformative perspective on compassion and service. Through meaningful acts of kindness, we foster inclusion, inspire change, and deepen our collective understanding of humanity.

Malaikah was created for kids, by kids—an initiative born from the hearts of young visionaries.

During their first semester of college, Ammar Ansari founded The Malaikah Foundation alongside his Vice President and close friend, Shahmeer Memon. With the support of Raabee Shamsi and Fahd Ahmed, the four came together to turn a shared dream into reality.

The inspiration behind Malaikah is deeply personal. Ammar envisioned this foundation as a tribute to his younger brother, Hasan Ansari, and children like him.

To us, they are Malaikah—angels who bless our lives with their presence. To us, they are what we call Malaikah—angels in our lives.

As the foundation has evolved, its mission has expanded beyond special needs advocacy to serving the angels of the world, including orphans and other vulnerable communities.

Today, Ammar leads Malaikah’s international initiatives in partnership with the Omair Sana Foundation in Pakistan, while domestic operations are now guided by Zoya Mirajwala, former Director of Operations, and Humza Ansari.

our story

Meet The Team

Zoya Mirajwala joined The Malaikah Foundation in September 2023 as Director of Operations and, just over a year later, became President. In her role, Zoya leads the foundation’s domestic initiatives, ensuring that children with disabilities, orphans, and other vulnerable communities receive essential support and care. Her passion for advocacy is deeply personal—growing up, Zoya recognized the stark contrast in resources available for individuals with special needs and orphans in Pakistan compared to the United States. This realization fuels her commitment to expanding Malaikah’s reach, turning her vision of inclusion and empowerment into a reality.

For Zoya, The Malaikah Foundation is more than an organization—it’s a tribute to her parents, Moiza and Salman Mirajwala. Her father’s older sister, Saiqa, who had Down syndrome, was the heart of their family and the reason Zoya is so dedicated to this cause. Witnessing her father’s unwavering care for Saiqa gave her a profound understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and their loved ones. But Zoya’s ultimate inspiration comes from her best friend, her mother, who never gave her any idea that she couldn’t do whatever she wanted to do, or be whomever she wanted to be.

Zoya’s commitment to The Malaikah Foundation is her way of honoring her father’s devotion to his late sister and carrying forward the values her mother has instilled in her. She works tirelessly to expand the foundation’s respite care programs and support services for orphans, hoping to uplift as many lives as possible. Her mother’s influence is the reason she proudly wears a hijab, and every day, Zoya aspires to be more like her. Through her work, she hopes to inspire others to embody the same strength, kindness, and dedication that her mother has always shown.

Vice President

Humza Ansari, as Hasan’s elder brother, is deeply committed to upholding the family’s vision and ensuring its legacy thrives for future generations. Dedicated to expanding The Malaikah Foundation’s impact across the United States, Humza draws inspiration from his family’s unwavering commitment to service. Before his birth, Humza’s two older siblings, Omair and Sana, tragically passed away due to a rare disease. To honor their memory, his father, Kashif Ansari, founded the Omair Sana Foundation, providing critical support to children battling the same disease. Now, through The Malaikah Foundation, Humza continues this legacy by advocating for children with special needs, orphans, and other vulnerable communities.

Humza’s ideals and perspectives on children with special needs and orphans are profoundly influenced by his mother, Ambereen Ali, whose compassionate views and tireless willpower have shaped his outlook on life. Ambereen’s unwavering dedication to overcoming life’s challenges and her deeply empathetic approach to caring for the most vulnerable continue to inspire Humza’s mission. Coupled with the guidance of his father and older brother, Ammar Ansari, he has embraced the principles of coexistence, mutual support, and social integration. These values drive his vision of a society where no one—regardless of their abilities or circumstances—feels marginalized.

As Vice President of The Malaikah Foundation, Humza works closely with President Zoya Mirajwala to oversee domestic initiatives and advance the goals established by Ammar Ansari. He actively engages with partner organizations to organize respite care events, expand outreach to orphans, and foster collaborations that elevate The Malaikah Foundation’s reach and impact.

Through his role, Humza is committed to showcasing that children with special needs and orphans deserve inclusion, respect, and compassion. Drawing from the inspiration of his mother, he aims to show the world that, despite their differences, all individuals are equally valuable as creations of God.
